President Blog
Dear Rotarians,
Welcome to Your Rotary year 2024-2025!
Our theme this year is “The Magic of Rotary”.
Firstly, I would like to sincerely thank the Rotarians of the Rotary Club of Panvel Mahanagar who have worked hard over the past twelve months to make the year a success. This includes the past presidents of the club, the Board of Directors, and all the Rotarians.
Thanks to all the leaders who held a position in the district who have brought special laurels to our club, I am indebted to all of you. I would like to focus on and challenge our Club on that one-word Opportunity. My most important goal this year is to attract, retain, and engage new and existing members in and to our Club. We need to tap this Opportunity and try new ways of engaging and increasing our membership.
Without a focus on increasing membership, we will not be able to do our most important work which is service to our District 3131.
The Rotary Foundation in an important pillar of Rotary, Each Rotarian and club can choose the level of Foundation giving that is right for them. When you give $100 or more per year to the Annual Fund, you can become a Rotary Foundation Sustaining Member. Multiply that gift by 10 and you are a Paul Harris Fellow — one of those who donate $1,000 or more to the Annual Fund, the Polio Plus Fund, or approved global grants.
Rotary is a service organization and part of the engagement and attraction of new members is to have a compelling service initiative that stimulates people to get involved. Over the next year, we will be pursuing many service projects which will help society.
Lastly, we need to promote what we do. Not only what we do locally but what Rotary does as an international organization. Rotary can change the world as we have shown with our efforts around Polio eradication. Who wouldn’t want to be part of an organization that can have that kind of impact both locally and internationally?
I’m honored to be serving as your President and looking forward to an exciting year of transformation, growth, and Opportunities.
Thank you,
Rtn. Arun Khedwal
