The Rotary Club of Panvel Mahanagar, in collaboration with Mpower, an Aditya Birla Group initiative, successfully organized a session on prioritizing mental health for girl students in the 11th and 12th standards at K.A. Banthia School and Junior College, New Panvel. The session, attended by over 400 students from the Arts, Commerce, and Science streams, was aimed at raising awareness about mental health issues and equipping the students with essential knowledge on where to seek help if needed. Pradnya Kanade, M.A. in Clinical Psychology and Executive - Outreach & Content at Mpower, Mumbai, led the session. With her extensive experience as a psychology professor and trainer in life skills for undergraduate students, Pradnya effectively communicated the importance of mental health and shared practical strategies for managing stress. The session provided the students with valuable insights into mental well-being and the resources available to them. The event received positive feedback from the school’s Principal, Mr. Madi, who appreciated the initiative and requested more such sessions in the future. Mrs. Bhavna from Mpower, who was also present during the event, expressed Mpower’s interest in continuing this collaboration with the Rotary Club of Panvel Mahanagar, further strengthening their commitment to promoting mental wellness. President Rotarian Arun Khedwal also expressed his desire to plan advanced sessions on mental health not only for the students but also for the teachers. His vision is to ensure that both students and educators are well-equipped to handle mental health challenges, fostering a supportive and understanding environment in the school. Key members of the Rotary Club, including President Rotarian Arun Khedwal, First Lady Rotarian Shweta Khedwal, Secretary Rotarian Mukund Chaudhari, Past President Rotarian Sudhir Chakole, Club Trainer Rotarian Dr. Dipak Khot, and Rotarian Ravindra More, attended the event. Their presence underscored the club’s dedication to community service and its proactive approach in fostering positive change, particularly in the vital area of mental health awareness.
