Panvel, July 28, 2024 - The Interact Club of Panvel Mahanagar (Club No. 216080), under the aegis of the Rotary Club of Panvel Mahanagar and Rotary District 3131, recently organized a successful Adai Hill clearing project. This initiative, which falls under the youth development and environmental conservation avenues, was aimed at educating young minds about the importance of maintaining a clean environment and fostering a sense of responsibility toward community welfare. The project was led by the enthusiastic members of the Interact Club, with Master Sajan Sah serving as the President, Master Jeet Ganesh Fegade as the Vice President, Miss Arushi Arun Khedwal as the Secretary, Miss Divya Digambar Darekar as the Joint Secretary, Master Akshay Datta as the Treasurer, and Master Sharanya Swapnil Yaswante as the Joint Treasurer. These young leaders took charge of the event, showcasing exemplary leadership skills and a strong commitment to environmental sustainability. Guidance and support were provided by esteemed members of the Rotary Club of Panvel Mahanagar, including President Rtn. Arun Khedwal, Vice President Pransingh Mehra, First Lady Shweta Khedwal, and Treasurer Snehal Pendse. Their mentorship was instrumental in planning and executing the project, ensuring that the Interact Club members had a valuable learning experience. The Adai Hill area, known for its picturesque waterfall, attracts numerous visitors during the monsoon season. Unfortunately, the influx of tourists often results in littering, with plastic wrappers, bottles, and glasses strewn across the landscape. The Interact Club members took the initiative to clean the area, collecting waste and disposing of it in designated locations to facilitate proper segregation and further treatment. The cleanup drive not only enhanced the natural beauty of Adai Hill but also served as an educational exercise for the Interact Club members. By actively participating in the project, the young volunteers learned about the impact of pollution on the environment and the importance of waste management. They also developed essential skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership, which will serve them well in future endeavors. Rtn. Arun Khedwal, President of the Rotary Club of Panvel Mahanagar, praised the efforts of the Interact Club members, stating, "The dedication and enthusiasm shown by these young leaders are truly commendable. Their commitment to making a positive impact on the environment is inspiring, and I am confident that they will continue to contribute meaningfully to our community." Vice President Pransingh Mehra also emphasized the significance of such initiatives, saying, "Youth involvement in environmental conservation is crucial for sustainable development. By engaging young minds in projects like these, we are nurturing a generation that is conscious of its responsibilities towards the planet." The Adai Hill clearing project stands as a testament to the Rotary Club of Panvel Mahanagar's commitment to empowering youth and promoting environmental stewardship. It is a shining example of how community-driven initiatives can bring about positive change and inspire others to take action.
